This class is aimed at DB2 DBAs and assumes a working knowledge of DB2 performance tuning.

Seminar-Inhalt

·         Overview of WebSphere Application Server (WAS) V6 including the architecture overview

·         WebSphere application model, session management, typical application flow

·         WebSphere Queuing Network

·         WAS V6 performance tuning considerations including a review of monitoring tools such as Tivoli Performance Viewer

·         System (WebSphere queues and JVM) and application tuning considerations

·         Overview of WAS V6 and DB2 UDB V8.2 integrated environment and key performance drivers including connection pooling, prepared statement cache, session database, EJBs and JDBC Universal Drivers

·         Overview of performance management and problem determination methodology in a DB2 UDB/WAS environment

·         Problem determination scenarios involving connection pooling and concurrency issues, and

·         Operational considerations including configuring JDBC providers and setting up a sample DB2 EJB application
