To learn a well-tested method to detect inadequate indexing as early as possible and to derive cost-effective indexes for SELECT statements -- also for complex joins In addition to new applications, the method is well suited for improving the performance of existing database applications without changing application programs. The course is product-independent: the method has been applied with good results in following environments.
