With the help of business intelligence, companies are learning more about their best customers, their supply chains and product life cycles--to the benefit of the bottom line. Accurate business intelligence can lead to competitive advantage, and people who know how to administer such a system play a critical role in its success.
This course is intended for database administrators, system administrators, and database application developers who design, maintain, and use data warehouses. The main topics are: Parallel execution, ETL (Extraction, Transformation, and Loading), materialized views, and star schema optimization. In order to attend this course, you need to be familiar with relational database concepts, basic data warehouse notions, Oracle9i server concepts including application and server tuning, and the operating system environment under which you are running Oracle. Note that this course does not cover Real Application Clusters; that is done in a separate course.
